Default Anyone With Asthma Have A UV Light For Your Air Conditioner?

Does anyone with someone with asthma in the family have one of those UV lights they heating and cooling people always want to sell you? I've been told they put off ozone, which is not good if you have asthma. Just wondering if anyone with asthma has experience with one?

There was a previous thread on this, as i recall these were quite expensive. Try a Google search, consumer reports, etc., you are right to be concerned about ozone, it also causes problems with anything using rubber. We use a MERV 11 filter, but if you still more purification, IMHO, get a small electrostatic filter, and put in the bedroom, and close the door. The AC system will still be circulating air in and out of the room, but the additional filter should keep the dust (etc.) to a lower level.
Hope this helps.
