Just a heads up regarding Autotrain. You can call their number to find out scheduled arrival of incoming train before leaving for Sanford.

We also got a full refund cancelling the same day due to extreme lateness. Took a bit of firmness with the agent.

Scheduled Auto Train north from Sanford Wednesday June 24. Normally Auto train leaves at 4 PM, but you must have car there by 2 PM. Received message previous day to arrive early as road construction causing delay. Got there about 12 30 PM and saw little traffic. Had lunch and got back around 1:45. Disaster! Train had arrived 3.5 hours late and was unloading cars from arrival. Cars going north directed to park along roads in neighborhood. It was a disaster with cars blocking driveways, no one knowing what was happening etc. After 45 minutes we decided to cancel our reservation and drive north. As it worked out, the train left around 7 PM and got to Lorton Va around 12:45 next afternoon.

Read in Orlando sentinel that when this happens and once it is in play makeup doesn't happen very easily.
