Default Box store vs mom n pop

Box stores for me are a last resort . The convenience of a brick and mortar far exceeds any savings made.

When you go to box stores you will rarely find anyone to assist AND once you have committed to entering any aisle, you better hope you don't need life support. Guess I'm getting ancient!

A box store IS a brick and mortar store.
Are you referring to the difference between a large box retailer and a small box retailer?

I don't like box stores because the prices aren't THAT much better for most of the things I'd buy in bulk. I've also found that if I wait long enough, the local supermarket will have products I'm interested in, for even less than what the box stores are charging. So maybe I won't buy salmon steaks at BJ's, because Stop & Shop has the same brand on sale for less per pound. The best thing about that is, I don't get stuck with 9 pounds of it in my freezer getting freezerburned because I keep forgetting it's in there.

Costco, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Amazon...they're all good!

Sorry, was not clear, really referring to the Lowe's and Home Depot as opposed to our friendly Ace hardware, knowing full well, sometimes need demands a trip to the big ones.
