The deed is done & not too soon
[QUOTE=chuckinca;1005949]Tomorrow at dawn the Jordanians are executing the woman prisoner they offered in exchange for the Jordanian pilot and the Japanese free lance writer.
Additional action by their military to follow. The deed is done, along with a second Alkaeda prisoner ........and not too soon. Insane barbarians that the world is up against; they think they are back in the crusades. |

Super excellent post & insightful quote
Quote:
SUPER EXCELLENT POST. INSIGHTFUL QUOTE........ ""In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up." -- by Martin Niemöller, prominent German anti-Nazi theologian and Lutheran pastor, best known as the author of the poem First they came.... |

Ok, I am probably overly simplifying this....
1. Get as many nations on board (on the same side), against ISIS, a united front. 2. Cut off ALL AID to any country harboring/supporting the ISIS radicals. 3. Start a concerted effort to block ALL INTERNET access to and by the ISIS radicals and any supporters. This includes but not limited to deliberate cyber attacks on an and all Internet facilities providing access or support. 4. Cutoff ALL support for any and all financial institutions that may be providing or suspected of providing money laundering or support of ISIS. In this case, act first, apologize later. 5. Block the purchase or sale of any and all ISIS materials/products (oil, etc.). 6. Put the arms dealers out of business. Bottom line, cut off all supplies to and from the radicals and their supporters. With any luck, this will weaken them sufficiently that they can be beaten into submission. I rarely get into these discussions, but recent events require some form of response.

Unfortunately, the killing of the suicide bomber by the Jordanians will have little effect on ISIS since she was supposed to die on her failed mission. Sad but true.

Private practice[edit] From 2001 until he became Attorney General, Holder worked as an attorney at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., representing clients such as Merck and the National Football League.[5][10] He represented the NFL during its dog fighting investigation against Michael Vick.[29] In 2004, Holder helped negotiate an agreement with the Justice Department for Chiquita Brands International in a case that involved Chiquita's payment of "protection money" to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, a group on the U.S. government's list of terrorist organizations.[30][31] In the agreement, Chiquita's officials pleaded guilty and paid a fine of $25 million. Holder represented Chiquita in the civil action that grew out of this criminal case.[31] In March 2004, Holder and Covington & Burling were hired by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to act as a special investigator to the Illinois Gaming Board. The investigation was subsequently canceled on May 18, 2004.[32] The firm represented Guantanamo inmates but Holder "never participated directly in the firm's Guantanamo work", and is not expected to recuse himself from matters pertaining to it.[33] During his years in private practice, Holder represented the Swiss private bank UBS. Because of this, he recused himself from participating in the Department of Justice investigation of UBS's abetting of tax evasion by U.S. account-holders and the prosecution of Brad Birkenfeld. (As Attorney General, he also had to bow out of the Roger Clemens contempt of Congress prosecution because the pitcher was once a client of Covington and Burling.)[34][35] While D.C. v. Heller was being heard by the Supreme Court in 2008, Holder joined the Reno-led amicus brief, which urged the Supreme Court to uphold Washington, D.C.'s handgun ban and said the position of the Department of Justice, from Franklin Roosevelt through Clinton, was that the Second Amendment does not protect an individual right to keep and bear arms for purposes unrelated to a State's operation of a well-regulated militia.[36] Holder said that overturning the 1976 law "opens the door to more people having more access to guns and putting guns on the streets."[37] In late 2007, Holder joined then-Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign as a senior legal advisor. He served on Obama's vice presidential selection committee.[19] Last edited by tomwed; 02-04-2015 at 07:49 PM. |

Re tomwed's posts above:
"…..During his confirmation hearings in 2009, Holder came under scrutiny for his role as President Bill Clinton’s Deputy Attorney General in granting clemency to terrorists from the radical Puerto Rican radicals in the FALN organization. As the Los Angeles Times reported, Holder “instructed his staff at Justice’s Office of the Pardon Attorney to effectively replace the department’s original report recommending against any commutations.” The FALN case was not the only troubling evidence of Holder’s sympathy for terrorists. Holder served as senior partner in the Covington and Burling law firm, which took on the cases of 17 Yemeni terror detainees being held at the Guantánamo Bay prison. Holder also represented Chiquita Brands International in a plea bargain over payments to the AUC, a Columbian terrorist paramilitary organization... In 2010, Liz Cheney and her Keep America Safe organization pointed out that Holder’s Department of Justice (DOJ) included nine lawyers who had previously represented Al Qaeda terror suspects. Critics charged, falsely, that Cheney was arguing that terrorists did not deserve lawyers. She did not dispute their right to counsel, but did question whether those who volunteered to provide it could be trusted with the nation’s security……."
