Default Uh, we do an amenities fee

No, we do not pay an HOA fee but, we do pay an amenities fee. These fees pay for common property maintenance, ball parks, dogs parks, cart paths, recreation centers, etc. If The Villages choose to do so, they could raise those fees or charge assessments to cover unexpected costs. Never say never.

They don't own the amenities. Right?

This is why those who whine “greedy developers” don’t stop and consider the prospects. As long as the developers are involved, the better off TV will be. Celebration and many Dell Webb communities are examples of no involved developer.

The Developer can continue with The Villages to the south.

Don't think it can't happen as it already has started. I can't make you understand, but it is up to the owners to ensure that they maintain control and not worship the Developers.
Our minds are still working. We understand lots of things. Disagreement does not mean there is a lack of understanding.

Makes one think that there is something to learn from this situation. People get concerned about the Developer trying to sell decaying country club buildings and aging water utilities. They support property tax hikes for infrastructure repair. There is the POA vs HOA as well as the many VCDDs that they have their thumbs in. Now the sale of the hospital.

What about the town centers and other commercial real estate being sold over time starting with the oldest areas and moving south over the next decade? Every major highway makes a natural demarcation line for a slow, but steady sell off as the bonds finish their payoffs.

After all, this is corporate America at its finest and the Developer's main business is real estate development and the commercial property is just an asset. The new money is down south and their new main clientele is the younger generations just discovering utopia.
I for one loved your comments and link and read it. It does give one pause for thought. That said Celebration vs The Villages there is zero comparisons. Way too many safeguards here.

I love to agree with you but The Villages have everything covered. Basically 24/7 /B]
