Bob was quite the party animal as well. Furthermore some of his official history is not backed up by documentation. Birthdays are not a tradition in my old country. But... Bob Hope is an exception. He was a wonderful, caring individual. He not only supported the troops, he also helped orphaned children as casualties of the war from the OTHER side. The man was a great humanitarian. When I went to look at the Hollywood stars on the sidewalk, his was the first I went to see.

In 1978 I took my children to Disneyworld. It was summertime, hot and humid, which left us all sweaty and diminished our energy and enthusiasm. My grandmother and an aunt took me to Disneyland in 1956, the year after it opened. I was 14 years old and totally enjoyed it. There were very pretty California girls around my age all over the place!

Went to Disneyland in the early 1970s. Probably when I was about 14 too.
