Let's not leave out Wall Street, the NFL, truckers, etc.

Katy Perry is near the top of the heap or the bottom of the barrel, though, depending on how one looks at it, and crazy as a bed bug to boot!

There were many Hollywood stars who did fight in WWII even when they were already established with studios and making very good money.

Quote:

Clark Gable, James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Alan Ladd, Robert Taylor, and many other stars left for the military, as did such top directors as John Ford, Frank Capra, William Wyler, George Stevens, and John Huston. A tally in late 1944, when the number of studio employees in the service peaked, indicated that over 6,000 had entered the armed forces, including 1,500 actors, 230 writers, and 143 directors. Metro lost 1,090 to the service, Fox 755, Warners 720, Paramount 525, Universal 418, Columbia 289, RKO 224, Republic 134, and Monogram 129.

Funny name for a man born on Halloween. I got an answer from an Illinois Victim Advocate named Candy Kane back around 1994 to one of my letters. I hope she had the same sense of humor as her parents to put that on her.

Now HE IS one of my handful of all-time favorites. I read that when he grew up his family was so poor he had to wear a hand me down dress from a sister to school. Imagine how tough he had to be to get through that! Reminds me of the "Boy named Sue" song of Johnny Cash.
