Default Civic Literacy Exam

Got this from a friend by email and thought I'd share it. It's a Civic Literacy Exam by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and of the 2500 people who took the test the average score was 49% and among college educators the score was 55%. I scored an 84.85% in getting 28 right out of 33 questions. I'm disappointed I missed those 5 questions. I should have known the answers.

I'm sure we have some knowledgeable folks out there who enjoy quizzes, so give it a whirl.

Great quiz Richie.

Scored 26 right of 33, time to go back to school or review my history.

Thanks

29 out of 33, but some of them were educated guesses. Reminded me of some final exams I took.

So far I guess I'm the one who has to sit in the corner wearing a dunce hat! I got 24 out of 33 or 72.73%! At least I passed!

Hey we're all doing better than the college teachers who took this quiz. That's something.

I missed three but I had to read and re-read and think and think and think on many of them. That is a very thought provoking quiz Richie. Thanks for taking the time to post.

That doesn't surprise me considering the subject!

That is a bit unnerving. Their collective score is inexcusable.

I tied ritchie. I could complain that one of my wrong answers resulted from an eye-finger-keyboard coordination malfunction but then I would be obligated to admit that I guessed well on one or two answers, so I take it as a wash.

A pure personal observation with no political commentary implied or intended: As a 1954 boomer, I am familiar with FDR only historically. I always presumed him to be wildly popular (evidenced by 3 terms, programs, etc) and practically above reproach. Beloved.

So with regard to his handling of Supreme Court Justices, I am bemused that he threatened to do to "his" supreme court the same thing that recent presidents have been intensly criticized or villified for doing.

Educated guesses, I would wager. Even if you're not sure of the answer by memory, you got the answer because you know how government works. That's something they're not teaching much of anymore.

In my previous post I forgot to include my thank you, richie! for sharing the quiz (it was fun and educational) and my admiration of skyguy for his honesty.

Thank you, but I'm ready, willing and eager to pass the hat!

Default Where are the other females

Guess I'm the only female so far to take this test. Ok, did much better than the educators and much worse than most of you brainy men, missed 9, but still happy with that, think it was 72.9%. Fun test though, and I liked that it gave the correct answers.
