You know guys, you might feel these videos are too simplistic...which in some respects they are...but frankly, they outline issues and are a primer to what goes on in Israel and Palestine which most people really don't know.
I recognize the bio on Prager is not as interesting as it reveals his bias. But there are valid points to be made.
I too have spent time in Israel on business and was actually rather surprised to see how arabs and jews work together and respect each others customs. Unfortunately, there would be far more chance to work out issues if everyone would stop throwing rocks at each other...a little self control.
All said, I am glad Carl in Tampa posted his video and I felt compelled to add the one that looks at it from a Palestinian point of view. Maybe instead of poopooing videos that offer differing perspectives of the same problem, albeit in simple terms, posters could offer their more sophisticated understanding of the issues to help people understand the totality.

It seems that both Redwitch and I just said that these two videos are too simplistic to fit a very complicated problem that dates back quite a ways from when Muslim religious leaders started conquering other areas in the mid 600s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliphate

Then on the other side you have The Bible and a myriad of other sources for history.

I see Prager's take on Arab leaders as having the same as a few US leaders had towards the Native American tribal members -- "The only good Indian is a dead Indian". Prager seems to argue that Arab leaders want all Israelis dead or out of Israel.

The other YouTube portrays these groups as refugees with competing interests. Only if you paint them like that. I will bet that a lot of Arabs have Jewish friends after their long existence together as many Jewish people would have Arab friends.

Talk radio commentators dumb down their YouTube messages. Give me William F. Buckley's Firing Line any old time. No screaming, bashing, or disrespect. Just intellectual discourse.

I think someone missed my point. Alas, I am off to work on my communication skills.

I got your point but name calling and such as in these two YouTubes rarely causes anything but more diatribe.

ISIS Already in Gaza Strip

I found this very interesting.

Carl, thank you, I wanted to post something about the current situation in Israel, but did not know what to say.
The video will come as a surprise to many.

Interesting post....... I recommend to read the book: "Lawrence IN Arabia", and you'll know what was the historical background between Jews and Arabs. It doesn't include the influence of terrorist groups.
But in case of knowledge of history: Recently I talked to visitors at Eisenhower Regional Rec.-Center which never heard anything about Eisenhower...... and today I found out that the name of "Lindbergh" is a almost unknown person in B&N bookstore. This experiences are hurting me, believe me - maybe that is coming up to me because I am a retired .......... t.....r.

I found this article on Lawrence of Arabia and his influence on the Western leaders diplomacy very interesting. Guest Column: The Final Death of Lawrence of Arabia :: The Investigative Project on Terrorism

It IS Simple

It is an issue that is clouded by decades of emotion, hatred, cruelty, and uncompromising rhetoric. I hope that future generations can find a way.

It is that simple, and there will be no resolution as long as there are Islamic fundamentalists who believe that Israel must be destroyed. There is no prospect that the fundamentalist branch will disappear or moderate their position.

Surely everyone knows that multiple leaders of Iran have called for the total destruction of Israel. History has demonstrated the attempts at this destruction by Israel's neighboring nations.

Egypt's President Anwar Sadat signed a peace treaty with Israel and was subsequently assassinated by Islamic fundamentalists in his own army.

Various individuals who aspired to leadership of the Palestine population in the Gaza Strip, and who advocated establishing peace with the Israelis, have also been killed.

------

When you have a culture in which the children are taught in their schools that Jews are descendants of monkeys and pigs; are shown maps of the region in which Israel is not shown to exist; and are told that all Jews should be killed, it is unlikely that future generations will be open to peace proposals.

Prager's video, derided by some as simplistic, is nontheless correct.

There are Arabs who want Israel destroyed. They are the aggressors. If they would cease their attacks on Israel then the conflict would end.

Iran

The Iran-Israel relations look a lot more complicated than I had first thought. I would bet that if you researched this some other Middle Eastern states relationship with Israel would not be as clear cut as Dennis Prager makes out in his YouTube.

I found this very interesting.

Well, I sure hope that SOMEONE is paying attention to this.

Reports are that in November of last year, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki visited the White House and actually asked for aid because of this threat.

This was further revealed in the testimony of a November appearance by an assistant Secy of State before congress.

Nothing was done.

Israel has wanted peace, but the leaders of groups like Hamas just wants the distruction of Israel.Hamas places rockets in the homes and schools of the Palestinians not caring if the residents live or die. What country other than Israel sends texts ,phone calls and drops leaflets on the homes that that harbor the rockets that attack their cities before they return fire?Israel sanctions life, where groups like Hamas celebrate death. Also after a war what country gives back land. Did our country give back Texas to Mexico.

Perhaps you can share the results of your research.

On the very day that the British occupying army left the newly created nation of Israel, every Arab nation that abutted Israel sent invading armies to destroy it.

That explains all that came afterward.

The Arabs lost that, and two subsequent wars, which they also started.

---------------

Israel has twice given up land for peace; first the Sinai peninsula and second the Gaza strip. They still don't have peace. They also offered the return of virtually all of the West Bank in exchange for peace. The offer was rejected.

Dennis Prager's analysis is both simple and correct: Arabs want to kill Jews and obliterate the nation of Israel.

Any talk of other disagreements between Israel and other governments over policy are mere sideshows compared to the fact that Arabs want to kill Jews. These events occurred after the Arabs had tried to wipe out Israel.
