I agree. Since it was only the local network affiliates that were down, it does not seem to be storm related. I also do not recall a storm last night in The Villages.

All the local channels, 2, 6, 9, 18, 27 56, 65, etc went out during the first quarter of MNF. All the national channels from channel 101 and up continued to work. About ten minutes later a sign was posted on channel 2, "you do not need to call Directv, we are aware of the outage and have our technicians working on the problem and will restore service as soon as possible". About 30 minutes later the game came back on the air just before NE was to score their second TD.

That explains why we didn't lose reception. We were watching Extra Innings baseball on channel 720-something.

OMG you lost your Direct TV

When there is a storm with heavy clouds the signal from the satellite is blocked that goes to your dish.No picture. Usually momentarily. With cable that wouldn't happen.

Guess you can look for a partial refund on your monthly bill.
