I am an adult and love disney, although their woke junk is deplorable. I do not watch any of their movies any more. I am hoping they wake up from their mental illness and am glad that Walt Disney is not alive to see this happening. The parks are funding their other losses. Hopefully, I can hang in there until their recovery.

Unreasonable??
Unfair??
Don't think so, 50,000,000 visited last year.

Crisis???
Don't think so............it's a luxury, not a necessity.

Actually, I think it may be a cult.

Universal Studios is better and cheaper, much better rides. The best annual pass also has free fast pass after 4 pm, just use the app before 4 for shorter wait times.

SIMPLE-when people refuse to go. Actually 7% is not bad. Our rate of inflation has been 20%. That means it now costs five dollars to buy what four dollars used to buy.

HUM. Perhaps they should have a senior day. No one under 55 allowed.

Price gouging is the latest buzzword. Typical thought. They make too much and I make too little. Price controls do not work. If you are selling your home or your car, the choice might be sell it for less to xxxxxx or get more from someone else.
Not all but most would sell it for more.

annual pass vs paying for one time trip

Need to do research on paying straight out for one time visit vs annual pass. Any suggestion on websites to provide straight forward comparisons, info, etc?

Total cash $122. Out of pocket

Have never paid more than $150 for any pass holder for Disney, or Universal (renewal $ $135).

It’s no wonder why their movies as of late are huge flops at the box office. Disney has lost American confidence.

Far as losing money and strange reasons. Disney is a corporation. A corporation is a business plan. The goal is to make money for employees and investors. Profits are taxed twice-at least twice, For an investor. The corporation is taxed and the same money is taxed again when the number, sometimes called the dollar is paid to the investor.

Far as Disney an amazing story. From a comic strip to the mega, world corporation it is today.

Higher prices -> lower attendance -> shorter lines -> less complaining, all while collecting more profit. Seems like a big win for Disney.

The time will come when they add one too many straws and attendance collapses. Unfortunately, that may be several more price increases away.

It’s $130. now family members were there 3 weeks ago. Guess Disney isn’t in it for the kids anymore. It’s all about how much will pay to entertain their kids!

And link from there for best ticket prices to:

Just a moment...

There is a break point in visit days total where an annual pass is better price than a ticket package. If you go down more than once in a year you may also do better with an annual pass.

The Disney World prices are always raised annually in October, the anniversary (fiscal year?) of the park opening. Other times sporadically.

Long time Disney World fans since park opened 50+ years ago and Disney Vacation Club members. Boy has it changed.

Our rate of inflation is running just under 3% over last year. Disney’s 7% increase this year coming after an increase in Oct 2023 is a bit more than double inflation.

There may be places to purchase tickets at a discount but for the straight ticket prices the Disney website is best. Different prices for different days and different parks but $150 for one day is probably a good number to work with. Each subsequent day is a little less. Park hopping privileges add to the price.

For us, living fairly close means we might visit six times per year. That would be $900 for six single days in a single park compared to about $900 to renew our annual pass. For us, the annual pass easily saves us money.
