Just wondering.

How about you and your children?

We have always, even when we switched occasionally from one side of the aisle to the other. Sometimes he is more up on things and sometimes I am. Sometimes we both look at each other and turn off the news.

Occasionaly my wife and I do not vote the same even though we are registered in the same party. Our Son is registered in the same party as us (like us he will vote for a candidate outside the party). but the Grandchildren are “All over the place”. They are very independent.

I am a conservative and my wife a rabid conservative just a bit right of Genghis Khan. So yes, in the majority of elections we vote alike.

Never. Not even registered in the same party. Has made for some pretty loud discussions over the years. And my children are certainly being raised to be free thinkers.

We didn't use to, but we do now. The second Bush brought us together (although I consider him to be an honorable man worthy of respect). Our children are social liberals but sometimes politically conservative. It just depends.

We are both registered in the same party, but we vote for different people in the mid-terms, hopefully for the best person to do the job. The children are conservative, the grandchildren all over the place - makes for some interesting dinner discussions which may become shouting matches. It's all good - just as long as they VOTE.

A friend asked me, “Do you and your beloved vote the same?”

I told her that my wife is staunch Democrat and votes the party line.

I also told her, “I, on the other hand, am an Independent. On election day morning, I like to get up at the crack of dawn and get to the polling place exactly when it opens. If my wife is sleeping on her right side, I’ll vote for the right. If she’s sleeping on her left side, I’ll vote for the left.”

My friend asked, “What if your wife is sleeping on her back?”

I said, “Then I’ll be 10 minutes late for opening of the polling place.”

My Dad always studied candidates thoroughly and then voted straight Democratic. My Mom studied nothing and then voted straight Republican. Her belief was neither party had the best candidates in every race so it was important for her to cancel Dad's vote since he clearly had no clue
