Default Farmers Market Marion? Where/When?

I was not impressed with the Farmers market on Paddock. I realize the vendors have to increase prices due to renting the space.

I have heard that the farmers market in Marion is fresher and more reasonably priced.

Does anyone know where and when the farmers market of Marion are held?
Thank you.

The Market of Marion - a Flea and Farmers Market

A lot of the produce comes from the wholsale market in Orlando, at all area Flea Markets.
You can watch the vendors sorting the stuff in the back of their booths.
There are a number of local growers as well.

I can't speak to the pricing and freshness of the Market of Marion produce, but I agree much comes from the same source as the stuff in Brownwood. For me, it is far more convenient to hop in my cart or car and zip down there than drive up 27/441 to the MofM. The extra time and gas dilutes any monetary savings.

I have been to the Marion farmers market and was not impressed. Quality was not good, but it was a tad cheaper. It was a hour ride there and back so it's not worth my time or gas to save a few pennies.

Not having access to a wide variety of fresh produce of high quality is my only dislike about living here. I miss the produce stores we had in Detroit.

Lol, and still is. Suburban Detroit has fantastic produce stores that have large selections of meats, cheeses, breads, and baked goods. The closest I can find in comparison here is Fresh Market, but they are very expensive. Also, the selection is small.

Bogie do you know of any produce stores in Orlando or Ocala that are similar to Fresh Market. I'm willing to drive the distance for some high quality produce.

My wife likes the produce in Market of Marion. During the summers in Norcal we buy most of our produce at local farmers markets, so she has good examples to compare MofM to.

(Michigan is famous for its agriculture also.)

I have been to the Market of Marion a number of times and have been impressed with the freshness of some of the produce.
I can't even think what kind of produce is not available in this area???

It's interesting that someone thinks an hour's drive back and forth isn't worth the time or gas to drive to purchase something,
but is willing to drive 2+ hours plus gas (100+ miles) for pretty much the same exact thing.

I shop the produce section at MoM almost ever week and overall find the selection, quality and pricing very good. Produce tends to be the freshest on Friday and cheapest on Sunday.

I love having the ability to buy organic fruits and vegetables right here in the Farmers Market from Donna of Blue Meadow Farms. I can get 3 organic peppers for $2. Back in NY the supermarket charges $5 for one!
