Solution to I95 traffic jams-
Sell up north and stay year round in TV.

Merry Christmas to all

Had a girlfriend murdered in DC area (Greenbelt). I avoid DC at all costs. I have no idea why we get into foreign wars when the people who live in this country are the greatest threat you face. Over 23,000 murders last year in the USA.

We are not living in the country of the Greatest Generation anymore.

Longer, but cheaper and faster.
I have taken I 78 thru Harrisburg and have also taken the Garden State to the Tappan Zee. We found that we like getting to I-81 and traveling thru the Shenandoah area.

I'm with Albany most of my late father's family lived in Bergen County, NJ and we always traveled over the Tappan Zee. Like a New Yorker I'll never call it the Mario Cuomo bridge.

So far as staying in Florida all summer to avoid the drive, no thanks I'd rather spend a few hours traveling to the north than staying in the furnace of Central Florida for months. We love both New England and Florida but there's a season for living in each.

Its all about the timing of when you leave and the idiots ahead of you. . . any of the choices can get messed up with a bad accident. . . yes, there are nice drives closer to the Appalachians, but as you get into the colder months, the more weather can impact the drive as well.

This drive has a bit of luck involved to not have any major disruptions. . . from where-ever you start, when-ever you leave and which-ever route you take

has anyone gone north on 95, then take exit 4 in virginia and swing over to Virginia Beach, and gone over the Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnell? my question is, do you stay on rt 13, or is there a better way to get to the del/mem bridge? rt 13 is traffic city

yes, more than once, but the route in summer time is congested, with many lights between 95 and CBBT, so not a quick choice, but a scenic choice. Delaware is a low traffic state, but there are quite a few lights on 13

not one of my preferences. . .

I am aware of the traffic on rt 13. what about picking up rt 113, or picking up rt 01 somewhere. has anyone done that?

We just did that in the last few days coming south and it worked well. For 9 years I worked in the Richmond area and often had to drive north past DC to see customers or our other facilities. I took this route all the time. Works well both ways.

The Greatest Generation were not Boomers. And in modern times they have stopped enforcing the law.

Also, the Washington Post is not a legitimate journalistic enterprise .
