Default First Day Of Retirement and Loving It

Gee, I haven't nothing to add to the title.

Went to sleep last night at 10;30 and woke up at 9:00 AM. I good way to start retirement. Spent time on the puter and I am going to watch my Yankees Opening Day Game at the Sox at 1 PM. Maybe I'll go down tomorrow night and see the new stadium.

Does anyone remeber what they did on their first day of retirement?

I slept late and sit in my recliner & read a good mystery book or a love story with my favorite drink(mt. Dew) & played on the computer. I kept looking at the clock & thinking about the nuts at the office still working & i was hoping my customers were giving them hell. I had worked in an insurance office since i was 16 year old and i was happy to get out of there. Lol enjoy this day as it is the first day of the rest of your life & a good day it should be!

Thanks but I wish I was 62. That's when I saw TV for the first time and had an overwhemling urge to move immediately. I immediately thought, "this place is for me".

I was thinking about getting a bigger television for the living room. That's the room for living, right? The big screens are relly great and I will put my puny 40 inch in the bedroom.

Football is the best for a big screen Tv but I do find that some of the spectacular special effect type movies are great too.

Welcome to retirement, where a small task can last all day. When are you coming home to TV? retirement can be pretty bays here, or you can veg out for a day or two. It's all good. I just got back from a short, one week Western Caribbean cruise, wonderful! The cruise ports are not too far away, so when life in TV gets too hectic, you can get away. We always sail Celebrity, so we drive 4 hours to Ft. Lauderdale. Lots of choices here.

Default First day

Congrats 2B!! A buddy of mine won 2 free tickets on the FAN to the Yanks opening day. Too bad he's a Met fan...

As I sit here at work I'm wondering what I'll be doing my first day of retirement.

Well, It's Saturday and I'll be playing golf for the last time in Memphis with a few of my buddies.

Our Movers come 4/12. Just let us know when you come down to start looking for your place. We can get together!

What did I do on my first (work) day of retirement? My work friends and colleagues have previously asked me that question also. My answer: I did nothing at all!

My friends/colleagues said that I did nothing as an employee, therefore apparently nothing had changed. I reminded them that I did nothing better than anyone else; so my years of doing nothing served to ease my transition from employment to retirement

I use my cellphone as my alarm clock. The VERY FIRST thing I did as a retiree was to delete my workday morning alarm setting. What a liberating act that was!!

At first, retirement felt like a vacation. I felt that I would eventually have to return to work "soon". It took a few weeks of actual retirement before the realization of retirement started to take hold.

Enjoy it time goes even faster in retirement than it did when I worked. I have been retired almost 4 years and the first day seems like it was just yesterday.

I remember thinking, "I never have to go back again" smiling all day feeling relaxed and wondering what is next. I have been here 15 months and I am still in a vacation state of mind! Enjoy today and everyday ahead 2B! I wish you good health and happiness! I count my blessings everyday!
