Default Pregnant Pepper?

I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on my pepper problem...well, not really a "problem"...more like a "freak of nature" issue. I cut into this pepper this evening and was shocked to see what appear to be little baby green peppers inside. I have cut open many peppers in my day but have never seen anything like this. I DO know that red peppers start out green but this still doesn't explain what these little "babies" are doing in there! I'm sure there must be a reasonable explanation for this. Otherwise I am just going to have to assume that there was some hanky-panky going on in that pepper patch!

I like the hanky panky explanation. Who knew a sweet pepper could be so hot?

It appears that it was "hotter than a pepper sprout"!

Default Pepper

I have cut open green peppers with 3 or less "babies" but never an Octomom pepper.

I've seen this many times. No reasonable explanation.
