Nothing wrong with my comprehension. I've not heard/read one time any of the experts saying that they were commenting based on what was known at the time. It has always been do this, do that and all well be good. A couple times they've said after something didn't work that they were going with what was known at the time.

People die, since the onset of Covid approximately 460,000 people have died in the state of Florida. 60,000 were coded as Covid deaths. That ranks Covid as the third leading cause of death - fourth, by the way, is accidents. Florida has one of the oldest populations of any state. It is also has one of the highest populations.
Yet, with almost no Covid mandates Florida still has faired better than the states with extreme mandates, like NY, PA, MI & CA. Care to explain that?!?

Well, there is that saying "seniors live an average of ten more years here in the Villages than in the rest of the country" whether that is right or wrong. Perhaps it has something to do with Florida's old folks longevity? Or, maybe it is the warm weather? Or, maybe Covid is just over stated and over mandated everywhere else? Yeah, that's the ticket! :coolsmiley:

Florida’s death count per 100,000 residents is worse than all of those except NY. NY, of course, is infamous for how badly it handled the pandemic in the beginning.

Yet you continue to ignore that FL has a significantly OLDER population. You know, the one's who were at a much higher risk of death from Covid?

Add to that, a positive Covid test at death was deemed a death DUE to Covid. Something they are STILL getting wrong, nationwide...

Even with that, FL is doing quite well...

The OP's topic was that FL has one of, if not THE lowest CURRENT rate of Covid in the CONUS...

Florida has likely achieved herd immunity which is a protective factor for those with weakened immune systems.

Opening schools and businesses was the right thing to do. This is been the state to be in from day one. Florida has done it right.
