Know who the irresponsible dog owners is? As adolescent s we would leave it at the offenders doorstep, light it on fire, ring the door bell and run! The owner will open the door --
and stamp it out. Eeww. |

I often leave the bag by the curb so I don't have to carry it for 3 miles. Then I pick it up on the way back from our walk. I'm sure that's what most people do. Otherwise they wouldn't bother to bag it at all. You just happened to find it before they doubled back to pick it up.

that's a rarity, dog owners are very good about picking up after their dogs. Give people the benefit of the doubt, FGS

Maybe the owner lived on your street and was going to pick it up on the way back from his walk

Probably left it so they could pick it up on their way back on the walk. Don’t worry about it. Carry in with your day.

Poop Stations?
Maybe residents should get together and suggest The Villages put in poop stations. In my community, we have poop stations throughout the community that supply poop bags and drop boxes. Then the service company comes by weekly and replaces more poop bags and cleans out the poop stations. And if anyone might think the stations smell,, they don't! It's just a thought. 🙂

I’m a dog owner and sadly, many people are too lazy to carry it as they should. I bought these little straps that connect to your leash. They are made to hold a poop bag so you don’t have to carry it.
Leaving it on our public paths and picking it up later is just plain lazy. |

Newcomers, visitors. It is interesting that this behavior increases during mass migration into The Villages and on holidays involving an influx of visitors. Yes, it happens occasionally during the rest of the time, but not nearly as often. The dog walkers who are here all year quickly learn that is not acceptable behavior. I do not hesitate to suggest that when they pick up their bag I can give them a spare for the rest of their walk.
