hi everyone,

my hubby and i are frequent visitors to the villages from ny and as soon as i retire we will probably move down (hopefully). This article was on page 17 of the ny post. It was really funny to see such a big article about the villages. We didn't know that there was so much going on that we really didn't know about. I guess there is a big sub-culture in the villages. As i always say to each their own and whatever floats your boat. We always said that the villages is the place to be...

The bronx girl

sex sells, reality doesn't. Hate to disappoint anyone but that info is not representative of life in tv.

My husband saw the report today on Fox News and he whipped off his "The Villages" hat and said..."OMG, I'm embarassed to tell anyone where were retireing, now!" Someone said it makes TV sound sleazy, well, sounds disease ridden...though I KNOW it's not representative of "the whole". ug.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! The Villages gets the name and other retirement communities play the game..

SEX SELLS!!!!!!!!! The Villages is a great place and always will be! I could care less what they say about it..
I love it there, and wish I could be there now, instead of sitting in PIA PA. waiting for another foot of snow!

You are too funny :icon_wink:

My husband and I didn't know anything about this stuff until the day before we visited TV for the first time. We met a couple while vacationing in Mt. Dora and they told us all about the swingin' singles of TV. Initially we were a little worried asking ourselves "what have we gotten ourselves into?" The lifestyle preview visit was either a blast or a bust depending on how you look at it. I mean not one man hit on me and neither did anyone try to sell my husband Viagra on the black market.

Since then we've gotten lots of good hoots out of the rumors.

Now, I'd pay to see that...

[QUOTE=Barefoot;185158]...having sex in golf carts and parking lots?

This makes Faux News look sleazier than ever

Faux News never was known for accurate reporting - this is just more of the same.

zcaveman 01-26-2009 09:19 PM

Do none of you think that these articles are true? Or am I just misreading your response.

:blahblahblah::popcorn: They gotta write about something to try to promote sales.

I don't know about the sexy stuff that goes on in TV, but staying up past Charlie Gibson going off the air on ABC evening news is DISGUSTING. What will the world come too??
That article is older than dirt and about as authentic.

We are in our home in South Florida and went to a party this evening. A couple we did not know, and they did not know that we had bought in TV, brought the article for all to read. Their son had sent it to them from up north. It is a topic of conversation.

I could have predicted that

Who would have thought anyone would think that is true?
Does that mean that property values will go up? Or down?

chelsea24 01-27-2009 02:27 AM

Hahahahah!

There were two threads yesterday on this topic. This is a very tired piece of 'journalism' that has very little basis in fact according to the residents here at TOTV.
