Sorry more than one word....But our Governor spoke today when meeting with our President and he specifically mentioned THE VILLAGES. He spoke very complementary towards our one of a kind amazing place. This interview was seen all over the country.

KUDOS to our Governor for speaking so well about the great job The Villages has done in fighting this virus, etc.

Like him or not, he really boosted the image of The Villages...!

I was also born and raised in Florida, Daytona Beach, and 60 years ago Florida was referred to as God's waiting room. Anyone born in Florida is aware of this phrase. It's just like the term Snowbirds. That reference has been around since I was in grade school. There is no disrespect intended in either reference.

Why would young people care about the phrase that Florida is God's waiting room?

I do not criticize Gov DeSantis for using the phrase. In the scheme of things, he protected God's waiting room by segregating COVID patients from these facilities as opposed to claims that NY sent COVID patients back to nursing centers.

I guess NY was helping to minimize the waiting time.
