Back during Covid lockdowns, the barber shops around us were closed so I learned to cut my own hair. Luckily, I'm retired military so a high and tight looks normal on me. Now that lockdowns are a thing of the past, I wondered why I paid all that money over the years for something that takes me five minutes once a month.

Compound? really?

$8 Hair Cut

I LOVE the $8 haircut place. I go there every 4 weeks. Fast, efficient, you don't get all the frills, but I just want a haircut.

I was tired of paying $25-$30 with tip for a 10 min haircut.

When I first tried it, I thought if it's bad it will grow back. But to my surprise it was a nice cut and I found a place that charges what it should for a guys cut.

Go to Big Al's on 27/441. They do a good job cutting my husband's hair.

Haircut

[QUOTE=dewilson58;2393030]A cheap investment with a quick ROI

Spot on advice. My wife has been cutting my hair for close to 20 years. Using a #3 razor guard, scissors, and a comb I'm good for at least two weeks. Of course, I haven't much hair left to comb, so waves and a pompadour are the least of my concerns. I figure I have saved enough money from haircuts at the barber to afford a new set of Titleist irons.

So I guess there is something good about my hair thinning. Save money on both haircuts and shampoo. The glass is half full!

Well hair loss can be reversed depending how long the area has been bald. Based on my experience it only takes a few months to see significant results.

The cheapest way is to apply minoxidil and finasteride topically. You can buy it from HIMS. I have experienced very significant results. Finasteride requires a prescription.

Yes, Cal's at Brownwood is $20, but the Cal's at Colony Plaza is only $18.

Where in Colony Plaza is it located?

I saw somebody cutting hair at Marion Market. You could get a cut and some “home grown” vegetables. 😂

Depends on your hair,IE full head partial balding , I get mine done at Wildwood 8 bucks plus tip many good barbers work there not a buzz GI type haircut they cut it to your desire just tell them what you want. I am satisfiied .

Brandi's in Wildwood is great for a guy's cut. No appointments needed, first come, first served. I've had various results from the 'stylists' renting the chairs there. Most of the times the cuts are great, sometimes not so much. That's not any different than the high priced chain shops. For $8.00 it's well worth it.

Back in the day when money was tight I thought we could save if I cut my son's (age eight) hair. I did it once. He didn't let me near him with the clippers again. Can't say that I blame him.

My theory on haircuts...if a man wants to look good, he should get his hair cut by a woman, and vice-versa. You'll probably pay more...I did, back when I was of an age when such things mattered to me. My wife is a bit on the extreme side re that: before we moved here we used to drive 200 miles one way once a month to get her hair done by a guy who charged $120 a time. Results admittedly very good. Down here her hair person charges $90 per time but it is only a 1/2 hour drive.

I do my own. Spent $35 at Sally's, bought a decent clipper and it takes only about 5 minutes. Been doing this for about 8 years now. Cheapest haircut around.
