I have to agree with the baseball. But everyone makes a mistake!! I can deal with Manny and the drug and 50 game ban deal. It is the money that kills me, Cant see paying anyone to play sports and get paid that much to do it.
On the jackson thing enought is enough. Now they are digging up everything they can find. I have not watched the news since that happend. I was tired of hearing about it 3 hours after they announced it.
Just like Steve McNair. Tired of hearing about him. What a great person he was and all this at his memorial. Why was he in that position??????????? Hello????????

I am a Bonds fan anyway!!!! what do I know..

More Baseball stuff

I remember many, many years ago when Vida Blue was asking for what seemed at the time an outrageous amount of money. Charlie O., of course, said it was a team game and no individual player was worth that much. So Vida pulls out a bunch of spreadsheets (pre-computer, no Excel) that show how many more fan attend when he pitches v. when bums like Catfish Hunter pitch, and how much more money Finley makes in tickets, parking, and concessions when he's on the mound. I think even Charlie conceded Vida's point and gave him most of the money.

I loved and closely followed baseball all thru the 70's and 80's until I moved to Europe (after game 5 of the World Series between my beloved Cardinal and my even more beloved Royals. Since returning to the States in '94, the only game I have seen in its entirety was the Cal Ripken game on September 6, 1995, and even I got teary eyed when he did his thank you lap.

Back to MJ

I thought back in the early 80's he was a very good ...maybe even a great entertainer. However, the coverage of his funeral was way over the edge.

Michael Jackson Media Frenzy

Campbell, I totally agree with you.

I am not a Bill O'Reilly fan, but I have to agree with some of his comments about
the current MJ media circus.

Yes I am tired of it but we better get use to it as it will be going on for years.

I had enough Michael Jackson coverage the first day it was on the air.

He was a fabulous musician and entertainer.... BUT..... he was also a tortured soul and I strongly believe a pedophile....so the question is why is he being called a hero.....I think it is wrong to make such a huge media event of his passing.

:agree: with Beads. I'm not a Bill O'Reilly fan, but he definitely made some valid points on his video. MJ was a very talented and tortured entertainer who was also possibly a drug addict and pedophile. IMHO, saying Michael Jackson is an American icon is just wrong.
