In studies where pickle juice was effective for muscular cramps, researchers used about 1 milliliter per kilogram of body weight. For the average study participant, this was somewhere between 2 to 3 fluid ounces. To use pickle juice for muscular cramps, measure out the pickle juice and drink it quickly. Taking a rough “shot” is also acceptable. |

I could see a use for pickle juice pops if you are a runner or do very strenuous workouts, since pickle juice is supposedly good for muscle cramps. You come home from your run or workout and are hot, so you sit on the lanai with a pickle juice pop to cool off.

From the information in some of the above posts one might consider pickle juice a prehistoric Gatorade!

Mom didn't care much for seeing the pickle jar, sans juice...but that didn't stop me. :D Not too long ago I read an article that discussed top level athletes drinking pickle juice...instead of sports drinks. There is something about all of the ingredients in the juice, that supposedly aids their recovery, after strenuous exertion...much more quickly. |
