I was just thinking. I understand some of the bad guys use remotes to try to open up the garage doors. I really don't know this to be true or not but I was thinking to just unplug the motor that runs the door when I go away for a extended period.

Many (most) home invaders bring their own firearm.
I'll save the wasp spray, for the wasps...

Oh just come in our home and try to rob us......Surprise!!!!!

A well-placed bullet (or more if required) would do wonders for adjusting the attitudes and ambitions of lots of the low-life criminals. Even our local paper with its "daily dose of only sunshine news" could not ignore that story!
Recent conversations I've had indicate about half of us are very prepared to help the creeps with that "attitude adjustment" if the opportunity presents itself in our homes. "Be Prepared" is still a good motto to remember. See you at the range!

No need to unplug. The control on the wall has a lock position and the door cannot be opened until you put it back on unlock. Just don't do what we did....accidentally locked it and couldn't get back in. Thank goodness our dog sitter was home and we were able to get her key to the front door since we were in my son's car and didn't have our keys.

Also, keep a can of wasp spray handy in the house. Should someone attempt to get into your home you can use this spray as a deterrent. If you don't think it would work try pressing the little red button and see how far that spray goes! Better than mace.

I saw that same suggestion regarding your car's remote on Facebook a while back. The problem with it is that most bedrooms are too far from your car and if your remote does work, chances are your car is in your garage and the sound to a neighbor would be muffled.

The problem with wasp spray is that your efforts could be sabotaged and the insecticide could be used against you. Chances are, the intruder is stronger than you and faster because you've been asleep and he's ready for anything.

Go to a marine supply store and buy an air horn. If you press that button, I can pretty well promise you that in an enclosed room, no one would be able to function with that noise. It's louder than a house alarm and neighbors will definitely hear it.

Hopefully, none of us will ever need any of this stuff!

I, and others, have handled and possessed firearms most of our lives without ever having one of those guns jump up and shoot someone "accidentally". I have raised 5 children in my home and each of them were taught at an early age to respect, and use, firearms.

The Liberal need to disarm the public will be the downfall of our nation.

as far as breaking into my house... bring it on!

Yes but then you have to ask for forgiveness.
Golf club probably is the best method for WASPs as was suggested.
WOP spray. Good one too!
