It is sad to see where the local business do not even want the crowd there anymore, as opposed to how they were welcomed in the past.

I think it is more of the thugs mixing in with the college kids causing the problems, than the college kids themselves. Kinda like Antifa mixing in with peaceful protests.

the intrusion of non college students in to a collegiate function including biker gangs is what sets up the violence to occur. Beaches should be patrolled no college id your out with zip ties around your wrists. Businesses have to demand their local ordinances to reflect that

I noticed what looked like a lot of outsiders, non-college thugs, guns and BLM -Antifa types willing to destroy anything in their way. We drove down from Boston, slept in our cars until we met others with motel rooms willing to share. NO violence, sloppy over drinking and fun.

Spring break was a time where you got away from your studies and got to relax and have fun. Not today , these kids think they are entitled, and can do whatever they want without any consequences.

I did Fort Lauderdale 61 years ago with high school friends from Michigan and it was fun in sun for a bunch of pretty well behaved 17 year olds

I volunteer at a local charity. This year during spring break we had a few high School age kids come and work for the charity. That is refreshing to see. There are a lot a good kids out there. Not everybody has the party mentality.

Most of the violence during spring break is not caused by the students. Miami Beach officials stated that outside locals were causing most of the trouble. Most of the students just want to party and have fun and aren't really wanting to get involved in any violence.

Dig a little deeper and you'll often find that the instigators of violence are not even college students, just predators.

Default Spring Break

When I was younger there were two events I never wanted any part in(spring break and Sturgis). At my age now it would still be Sturgis. I live in panama city now and spring break is going on right now and everything is going smoothly thanks to the fine job that the law enforcement here are doing!

Default Sign of the times

I believe the socio-economic and racial demographics have changed since Connie Francis sang Where The Boys Are in Daytona Beach 60 or so years ago.

Most of those committing violence are NOT "college kids"...

Do not believe that this problem involves "participation" trophies. People doing this are not the college students and probably some of the locals who "crash" the spring breakers. Seems like most of the problems are in Miami Beach.
