Here's one more piece of info that might interest you. Today (maybe longer; I don't know) Amazon is offering a free e-book of 500 recipes for the Instant Pot.

The Fagor Lux is probably the most highly rated brand name.
The 8 quart runs around $160 ish.
Think about what you are cooking because you can't fill them to the top.
If you're making a large pot roast, stew, soup or chicken, you probably would need the 8 qt.

Two people and 8 quarts of pot roast.

I had ignored this thread because I believed the topic "Instant Pot" was referring to the tobacco leaf variety, something I am greatly adverse to

This is a clear example of the "lost in translation" result when we converse this forum. apples v oranges

Bingo! Yes, Exactly.
I thought the same thing when I initially read the headline, but was curious and subsequently opened it and read it.

"Lost in translation?"
A definite yes!
Just like your thread that was closed!

Don't see an InstantPot on Sam's.com.
I did see a off brand for $89.
I saw this brand in person at Kohl's.
May want to check independent reviews.

Me neither. I see a Tristar brand for $89. But I'm not familiar with that brand.

This could be an idea for Christmas gifts in 2018. Making a list. Love my crock pot and how it smells up the house.

Does the Instant Pot have the same kind of affect?

I gave up pot of the other kind in 5th grade. Was coughing way too much in Elementary School. Did get high from MJ fumes at various concerts which I doubt happens here in the Villages. Cannot see people inhaling at an Amy Grant outdoor concert at the Polo Fields.
