Default I've always wondered ...

When convenient stores are robbed WHY a bulletproof cashier area has not been installed. Is cost prohibitive? This has to be the LAST job anyone would want. Sign for job opening. "Those with a death wish, please inquire inside"

Banks don't have them either, and that is where the serious money is located. I have heard that you lose business when you take away the personal, face to face interaction with customers. McDonalds and other fast food restaurants have installed optional touch screens for ordering, but have you noticed that very few people actually use the screens?

I think it may lower the home values in the area...like putting bars and roll down protection screens on the doors and windows of local businesses..

If you put up bullet proof enclosures you're just telling all of your customers that you feel unsafe. If you feel unsafe so will they. Next they'll take their business where they perceive it to be safe(r)

Not only that but you're also informing would-be robbers that there might be something worth stealing.

What I will never understand is why these stores have cameras set up but the clarity is horrible.
Why they don't pay the extra whatever-the-cost-is and install cameras that really show what they are designed to do.

Many convenience stores in bad areas do have bullet proof glass. It probably is very expensive and un less you're in an area where there are a lot of robberies it might not make sense financially.

In most of these robberies, no one is killed or injured. I would assume that employees are trained to just hand over the money and obey the instructions of the robber.
