Default TOTV is a great forum.

I fell in love with The Villages due to this forum. It is a wonderful place to exchange information and ideas and thoughts and have a spirited debate with your peers.

I have thousands of posts and would have more except some were deleted by moderators because they fell outside of the guidelines for this very well run forum.

I have been here long enough to see people come and go and some have been banned for their conduct as they should be.

Some posters on all forums like to stir the pot and get people upset and angry. It is what they do. Some call them trolls. We have had our share of those kinds of people on this forum, but they are watched and quickly dispatched after the administration is fairly sure that they are truly here only to aggravate.

It is a very difficult job to moderate a forum with so many outspoken and opinionated people with lots on their mind.

I am very happy we have TOTV.

I have changed my post Memason. Thank you for heads up.

Tell me how often all of you check TOTV. It is an obsession with me. I love The Villages and I love TOTV.

I agree somewhat with Walter123. Ignore the cats. However, some cats just come back and back, as other cats or new cats. Have to learn to discern.

I love the forum and have learned a lot from it. And I am addicted. My laptop is on from morning till night, and I'm always signed in to TOTV, so easy to check several times a day.

See, that's the beauty of TOTV; you can say anything you want, within reason, of course. GracieGirl, keep up the great topics and posts.

As a resolution to 2105, I am going to be more positive in my topics and posts and try not to p**s people off, unless they talk negative about Police Officers. Can't wait to get my shoulder therapy done in KC and become a full timer this spring. Have a great year everyone.

Hello Gracie,

I have enjoyed TOTV which helped to answer many questions before I moved here. It (YOU the members) provides a lot of information that is extremely useful. I still come on here to find recommendations for various contractors, etc.

I no longer generally read/post to certain topics such as
"Restaurant Discussions." I have my taste you have yours, simple. I will not come on here and tell you you are wrong and that a restaurant stinks - if you like it an I don't - enjoy. We all like and miss our hometown favorites. (CORRECT - NO ONE beats New York pizza) LOL !!

Certain politically driven topics such as gun control, abortion, protests, etc. although debatable, will not change minds and seem to just create hostility (for the most part). As above, we all have our own thoughts.

Enough rambling, my posts are usually very short but suffice it to say, TOTV has been and will continue to be a great forum (despite the trolls) especially where newbies are concerned.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!

CIAO!

Gracie I agree. This forum has been invaluable for many of us and a vast source of information. I've spent countless hours reading on here 5 years before we arrived. It was this forum that kept us going throughout our years of working hard. On a bad work day I'd come home and get on TOTV and daydream of when our time would come.

Yes, I'm addicted also and it was my New Years Resolution to not get on the forum anymore. I think that lasted one day.

My post count pretty much speaks for itself as does Gracegirl's and some of the other mega posters.

Tal, your posts are some of the most informative, and I always enjoy your perspective on things. People can be slugging away, and in you come with a link or a comment that is totally neutral but may settle the argument!

Yep, I too love the forums and am so very thankful that the posters who create the heart and soul of this forum are so generous with their time and information.

We were convinced to buy after our first visit, largely due to information viewed on the forum.

We were guided in our home selections, design elements, sub contractors, landscaping, locations, golf cart choices and too many other items to mention. Who needs "Angie's List" when we have such great feedback here on the forum?

Too many great, positive posters to mention them all by name. But you know who you are! The negative posts, I try to ignore and try to avoid confrontation on the forums. People reading the forums are often looking for reassurance that this is a great place to live and the negative posts do not help them (or us) in any way.

I would love to see a decorator section...... if you moderators are viewing....That is the only improvement I can think of.

Love TOTV and all the great info we have gleaned from all of you! A big "Thank You" to you all!!
