I am more sun-dependent than most people and notice the difference in how I feel just from a cloudy day, never mind when the days are shorter. I don't much care what the clock says, but I do miss ol' sol when he moves along toward the south, moreso every morning. Winter sun is less direct and gone more hours of the day.
I can get like a bear, hibernating till it's over.
It's called seasonal affective disorder--feels like dazed and confused.

It's the other change that bothers me - from EST to DST. This feels "normal."

Never really was bothered by cloudy days when living in southern CA, and not here either until this year. Some of the more recent overcast days have made me feel like a slug....moving slowly, not much ambition but thankfully not producing a desire to eat and eat........sometimes another manifestation one notices during the shorter daylight.

Are you a winter person by any chance? Some of us are more comfortable during certain seasons....maybe that also plays some part in whether or not shorter days impact us.

I'm sleepy all the time. It gets worse when the cooler weather sets in.

Boy, be glad you don't live up north, Kitty! This is glorious sunshine compared to living around Lakes Erie and MI.

I wanted to stay in Central America last winter but couldn't find a way to take my dog safely. SAD apparently doesn't happen much that far south.

Smile

I was still recovering from "spring ahead" when I suddenly realized it was time to "fall back", and now I have whiplash.

I suggest they change the time gradually: A half hour one Sunday and another half hour the following Sunday.
