Default Is it just me or are you sleepy, too....

...now that we've returned to Standard time. It's only 7PM and my cozy, comfortable bed is calling to me. At least it's light when I awaken each morning.

Took a while to adjust to it being so dark in the AM....we had lived for 34 years with earlier sunrises. We were early risers and even at 5:30, there was light on the horizon. The first winter here I wondered if we were ever going to see daylight...

It's been 7 years and still, when we switch back to Standard time, I'm all out of whack for a bit. Do you find that this time of year is initially bothersome for you?

Default Feeling tired

This time change bothers me too....at least for about a week and then I get use to it. I feel tired with little ambition and with the darkness setting in so early it cuts down our outdoor activities. I like the summers here much better.

Yes I'm ready for bed too but it's probably because I got up at 4:30 am.

Nighty, night y'all.

I usually turn the clocks to the correct setting when I go to bed.

I totally forgot about this time and rolled out of bed at 5 AM.

WOW - I record for me.

I generally start setting non-essential clocks and watches to the new time on Friday. On Saturday a few that we regularly look at get changed and then before heading to bed, the clocks on the stove and microwave get changed.
I have not yet been able to watch the cable boxes change. Wake up close to the hour and hope when the clock changes to the hour, it will be the hour ahead or the hour back. Haven't timed it right yet.

I made the sacrifice and slept in on Sunday morning....someone had to do it..... That extra hour was enjoyed!

Funny how light influences our bodies so much! In a week or two, everything will seem more the norm, but until then.....yawn....I'm hitting the hay early?..

I don't know why they do it in the middle of the night. I had to set my alarm for 2:00 am so I could get up and set it back an hour.

We lived on the western edge of the eastern time zone. In June and July it's just getting dark at 9:30 to 10:00 pm. Even in winter sunset was rarely before 6. It's hard to get used to the early darkness.

But don't like getting up in the dark worse.

Yes I find getting up in darkness much more annoying.

Getting up in the dark evokes feelings from when I was a kid and it was snowing in the morning as we got up. The radio went on immediately and we listened hoping to hear that schools had been closed! It was dark on those snowy mornings and bed was comfortable and warm. The thought of having to bundle up and trudge through the snow to the bus stop 4 blocks away made me cringe and the thought of it still brings the same feeling from eons ago....

I remember visiting friends in Maryland one summer. We headed into DC about 6 one early evening and it was still very light at 9:30. That was an interesting experience for me!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, your snowy morning memory! How I remember that feeling. And they almost never called school because we all walked!
