Just rambling about what I love here
When I made the decision to leave California, I wasn't sure where I would go, just somewhere in the South (didn't really consider Florida part of the South, but had some online friends I wanted to meet that lived in this state). I had many fond memories of the South when I lived here as a child. There was no question in my mind that it was either the Californian or Southern lifestyle.
Today, I was sitting in the lanai, reading the newspaper and enjoying the beautiful day. I spotted the one thing California doesn't have that I truly loved -- a brilliant, red cardinal. I could help but smile when I saw it. The smile changed into a full grin when some other birds started singing. Yes, it is truly a beautiful day in The Villages! I'm grateful for all the activities here. I love all the wonderful people I've met. The strangers in the Square who say hi as I wander around. The lady who stopped and danced with me one evening to the chagrin of my daughter. The Kentucky ladies who asked me to join them when I couldn't find my group during Mardi Gras. All of the TOTVers I've met at our gatherings. Those that I've had the honor of getting to know through PMs while they're yearning to come to TV. The TOTVers who contribute and share a little of themselves just by posting. My ladies Vera Cruz group who I have fun playing games with. Even some of the curmudgeons have made me smile. Those of us who live here are extremely fortunate. We can have the pleasure of gathering with strangers and making them friends. We can sit in solitude and enjoy the beauty of nature. Yup, I truly love TV today and it all started with a little red bird that made me smile.

Nonie, not in this lifetime! But they are nice sitting on the lanai. And I don't miss the nightingale that used to trill, chirp and go nonstop nightly outside of my window in California.
