A fabulous product and terrific customer service: how often do you get that anymore. ENJOY!

We are having fun with our Keurig. Wrinkles love new toys! It's not cheap, but we love the convenience and variety. And it's good to hear about the amazing Customer Service.

See you soon PT, I hope!

Ditto for us. The Keurig really comes in handy when you want a single cup, and it beats brewing a whole pot.

As has been said, it's an expensive way to drink coffee. I found coffeforless.com, which carries many lines of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. Pretty good prices, if you don't mind buying in bulk.

Our Keurig is going on 3 years old, and we have had no problems other than scaling. Running a potfull of vinegar through it every so often works wonders.

November Consumer Reports rated pod coffemakers. Top 3 were Senseo, Krups and Invento Cafe. Top rated Keurig was 6th among 15 with the Keruig B40 rated at 12th. CR said a very good model is the Senseo SL7810-65 costing $70 and rated 4th.

The fact an owner needs to call customer service on any product is a red flag.

I think I read on another thread that PT gave up coffee. But I'll be stopping by for some Jamaica Me Crazy. And I'll be bringing my iPad for an impromptu lesson! :Screen_of_Death: :mornincoffee:

Don't understand --if you are founder of company that owns Keurig why are you discouraging buyers? Wish I had bought Green Mountain Coffee stock when I first started using and loving it with my Keurig WOW --look at the price of the stock --not the coffee! lol

As he said, it's an expensive way to buy coffee. You are really paying for convenience here. For example, I typically get up and around earlier than my wife does, so I make a single cup of coffee (or two) while I read the paper or watch the early morning news. I don't have to brew a whole pot, and waste most of it.

In spite of the cost, those coffee pods FLY out of our local stores here in NY.

My personal favorite is Green Mountain Nantucket Blend.

Not in TV yet! We've been delayed due to some pesky medical issues. I'm here in Canada trying to keep warm by drinking Keurig coffee. It's addictive, like the iPad. MEM, I'll PM you when we get there.

Has anyone tried the Kaluha Coffee? I'm wondering if there will be good online deals on Cyber Monday.

I'm looking for the best K Cup source. We like Timothy's Decaf Columbian. I'm not familiar with the Net companies .... Which company offers the best deal?

VICAR OF DIBLEY 02-15-2012 02:10 AM

Keurig

Hi Bare,

I went to amazon.com to read the reviews what others wrote about the Keurig and other brands that uses the K cups.

Lots of luck,

I have the stock and my info has the founder as a fellow named Bob not Doug. Doug were you the original owner of the cafe in waitsfield?
My Notes from my stock file are as follows:

1981: Robert Stiller purchases an interest in the Green Mountain coffee store in Vermont.(cafe in waitsfield) .

1985: Green Mountain Coffee turns a profit.
1989: Employees form an environmental steering committee.
1991: Company installs $30,000 computerized roaster.
1993: Green Mountain holds initial public offering.

1997: Shares listed on NASDAQ. Green Mountain Coffee is the first roaster to offer coffee in a K-Cup® portion pack for the Keurig Single-Cup Brewing System.Nick Lazaris is named President/CEO of Keurig

In 2006, the company acquired Keurig, Incorporated

So Doug were do you come into it? Just wondering. I feel good about owning the stock because it has done well and because of its awards for its business practices.

Found this on the web

from the website

Tea & Coffee 04/04 - Green Mountain Coffee Roasters: Doing Well by Doing Good

I didn't post the entire article but here is some information about GMCR. I used to own stock in it as well.

There’s not much question that Stiller knows how to succeed in business. First he made millions in the 1970’s from founding and selling EZ Wider papers. Then one day he had an extraordinary cup of coffee in a Vermont restaurant and asked where it came from. He was directed to Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, a small Waitsfield shop started in 1979 by Doug and Jamie Balne. They roasted exotic, high-quality beans in the store’s small batch roaster. Literally smelling (and tasting) an opportunity, in 1981, Stiller founded Green Mountain Coffee and bought Doug’s and Jamie’s shop. A year or so later the Balnes pursued an opportunity to open coffee shops in Florida and left Stiller the sole owner

we have had a Platinum for 3 years and then it stopped pumping water. Worked with customer service and it was determined the pump is corroded with minerals from TV water (we used tap water). Since the machine was out of warranty, they offered us a new Platinum for $69 with free shipping which we accepted.

They also said the filters do not remove the damaging minerals and highly recommended bottled water.....which we now do!
