That's what voice mail is for

the very app you are using to talk to your fellow villagers is monetizing us. Or have all the adds become a blur.
Simple solution is for phones to have an off switch for unwanted adds even if the phone has to cost a few more bucks

Actually the government has forced the cell phone companies to develop stricter call identification technology so then VoIP calls or either blocked when the numbers are fake or must give a true number. I believe it will go into effect in the next 12 months or so. It won't necessarily stop you but I have a feeling the only thing they would stop is if they were charged five or ten cents a call if they are not on your contact list

I press the on off button on my iPhone and it silences the ringing of an unknown caller. Sometimes there is a red decline button that I can press. If it's important they leave a message. I always have my iPhone near however as I don't like to miss calls from family/friends.

Xfinity cellular has the service free to their subscribers, i am saving $80 per month on my 2 lines versus what I was paying with Verizon, Xfinity uses the same Verizon Towers, no difference in the service or quality, I am loving it, however there is a catch, you must have Xfinity Internet or Tv in your home.

How do you know you never missed a call?

So?? Why cant it just go to voice mail? Play the message n see if its anything important. Easy peasy

Because if its important, a message is left. If they dont leave one, who cares?

When I moved to The Villages, I refused to have my phone number listed in the Villages phone book. As a result, I do not get any scam phone calls. Problem solved.

hadn't heard of this before...hopefully it doesn't become a commonplace marketing technique

last thing I need is a call from 'Angelia' regarding an extended warranty whenever I pass an auto repair shop

I put my docs into my contact list, and when I'm expecting an important call then I will answer if it's a 352 area code. Sometimes the docs have multiple lines.

That is the problem. My DR office has numerous lines and recently having Florida room put in the vendor has lots of numbers so easier to just answer the phone.

Calling a number on the "do not call" list is also illegal.
