Default Lift chair

We have an electric lift chair that broke today and it's probably not repairable that we can tell. The thing of it is....it "maybe" two years old, if that. How long do these chairs last? Does anyone on this forum have experience with them?? When we tipped it over to find the issue...of course there was a tag on it that showed it was made in China. I don't suppose these things are made to last. If it can't be fixed how does one get rid of old furniture that's not useful??
