Cities Where the Most (and Least) People Own Their Home - 24/7 Wall St.

The one I quoted on the other thread was copied from the online news but this seems to say things differently.

How can you not own home here? The developer's ( more than one now) don't rent out homes do they? I imagine the new home for sale are the ones not counted as home ownership. Lots of home rented out by private home owners, are they counting them? If so probably half of Florida rented out

My take is that of all the people living here full time, 89% own their own home. I guess the rest rent from an owner.

You know those questions on forms, "Do you own or rent?" Something like that. We rented a house for a year or so in Columbus back in the dark ages. We were residents of Columbus but did not own a home.

We have some neighbors whose kids own the home, so they are villagers who don't own their home, and are not renters.

Same concept. They live here full time but do not own their home.

It would be interesting to have statistics as to exactly how many homes are rented out and for what period of time during a 12 month period. It would also be interesting to get stats as to how many homes were purchased here but that the owners do not live in The Villages that is in these homes at any time during a 12 month period (landlords only).

I have meet more than a few couples that their children own the home and parents live here. We bought our first house so both our parents could enjoy TV. It's giving back to those who raised you.
