Default Looking for fresh Portuguese Rolls

I went to Winn Dixie and Publix yesterday looking for fresh Portuguese Rolls. The bakery staff had no idea what I was talking about. Are there any good bakeries in the Villages?

You won't get anything suitably chewy.

Crusty rolls are almost impossible here. The closest I found are Publix Chicago rolls.

Not rolls, or as we call them, pops, but Publix White Mountain Bread is as close to a loaf of Portuguese bread as I've found down here. Actually, just about as good. Downside is that they slice it too thin. I try to get it unsliced. We sop up the broth from Shrimp Mozambique with it.
