I like detective shows and such, but I am open to any type of series if it's interesting enough. To give you a clue to my tastes, in the past I've liked Monk, The Mentalist, some NCIS (the original is all I've seen), sitcoms and various other types of shows. I rarely get hooked on pure drama. Monk and The Mentalist which I mentioned above had something in common...very good detective plots with really fun main characters and a humorous slant in every episode.

Okay, I'm open to suggestions. Again, I will consider any show if it's good.

Mare of Easttown is an excellent "who done it"
The Good Place is a supper silly comedy/satire about heaven and hell.

Bosch is great. Coming back for a 7th. Southland just started but good. Ted Lasso is another. Found it funny and entertaining.

Default Foreign shows

If you like detective shows with a twist, wait for Netflix or Amazon to stream “The Sniffer” again for free. It’s a Russian-Ukrainian show, and I think it’s interesting to see their take on detective dramas. Another out-on-a-limb suggestion is HBO’s “Beforeigners,” which is Norwegian. May be a bit too much nudity for some, as there is a caveman who likes to walk around without a stitch on. (Yes, a detective show with a caveman.)

Try “Burn Notice” on Amazon Prime. Ex-CIA man and his girlfriend and buddy do detective work for free to help people in need. It’s set in Miami. It’s light-hearted and fun, which is rather surprising as there are plenty of fights and the girlfriend is always eager to blow things up. It was on for five or six years.

We are watching Gilmore Girls. There are 7 seasons on Netflix. It’s a light drama with very tongue in cheek wit. It doesn’t have much sex or foul language but it’s entertaining. Like all shows it takes a few episodes to get to know the characters etc but if you decide to try it I hope you you enjoy it.

Try Nurse Jackie, The Durells of Cofu, The Republic of Doyle, Heartland, Hart of Dixie, Sons of Anarchy, Peaky Blinders, Last Tango in Halifax, Lucifer, Hell on Wheels, Longmire, Yellowstone, Doc Martin, and there has to be something there you will like.

I liked Castle, which was similar to the Mentalist with a civilian, in this case a best selling crime novelist paired with a detective. Nathan Filipina from Castle now stars in the Rookie which is also a crime drama with quite a bit of humor.

You could also try the beauty and the baker which is a limited series. Some people also like sci-fi is a series now called Jupiter also very interesting with Josh Duhamel. I can go backwards on YouTube to the '50s to some of the very nice cop shows Burke's law was fun, danger man, secret agent, dragnet, all the Colombo's, you can look for poirot as well or anything by Agatha Christie
