Bet his white adoptive parents are real proud of the POS.

CK has made some awful choices of late. I do understand the BLM movement. It has some valid points, whether we like to admit it or not. I love this country and its people. I am happy and proud to respect our flag. However, I firmly believe that it is important to speak out about wrongs and injustices. While I wish CK would find another way to protest, I respect his right to do so and his willingness to take the heat. (And I still think most of this is more of a publicity stunt that standing up -- or kneeling in his case -- for your beliefs.)

For those who have commented that he should use his money to help inner city kids, he has. He just recently announced a $1M donation to that cause. He participates in several charitable functions in the Bay Area and has donated a great deal of his time and money to several different children's causes. He may be misguided and making bad choices but do give him credit where due.

So many great people with so many great views on this issue. For me what it boils down to is as my grandchildren come of age if I still can I will teach them the proper way to respect our country. I never knew how much the message got thru to our son Charles until he came back from Boot Camp and told me of his love for our country. I want that for all youngsters but wasn't dealing in reality when I was so heated at this clown, he has his rites and I have mine. Its is what it is, my watch is sorta over, I did my best when I could it's time to chill.

Don't know who this guy is and I don't care what he thinks or says. In the grand scheme of things he is a spec of dust and will be forgotten soon enough.

Here's an idea: STOP WATCHING FOOTBALL!

Bay Kid 10-17-2016 06:30 AM

Didn't watch that game he played. Lots of other teams to watch.

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 10-17-2016 06:31 AM

I wouldn't worry too much. After yesterday's game I'd say that it's a safe bet that he won't be around too much longer.

I can't help but wonder how many hypocrites on here sit in their easy chair, with beer at hand...while the National Anthem plays on television?

At least Kaepernick is expressing his Constitutional rights to protest something important to him...not just because he's lazy.

Thank you, NUCKY! Any Professional Football player that can't stand & show there respect to our flag for all of Men & Women that died for them & I mean all races & nationality's, they are garbage. I can't believe that the American people that pay big bucks to go see garbage get thrown all over the field, don't have more respect for our flag than they do to support these teams.

I never thought to stand if I was not present. Never have even considered not doing it as I watched it on television as a lack of patriotism. I am amazed that you would call us hypocrites for not standing at home.

You learn something new everyday.

Do you stand CNM?????

You can't see the entire living room in picture, but said totv member is watching a niners football game, rooting for his favorite quarterback, ashtray off to side has Cuban cigars as well as a fireplace burning U.S. Flags, all while the national anthem is playing.

I remember the Mexico City Olympics where Smith and Cruz gave the Black Power salute when our anthem was played. I was livid! My brother, who had just returned from his second tour in Nam, said this is what he fought for -- the right of ALL Americans to peacefully protest. He was sure our father had fought in WWII and Korea for the same reasons. Shut me up then, keeps me from being upset about it today. I'm proud that we live in a country where we can say what we think and protest when we perceive something is wrong. I don't agree with CK but I'm proud that he can make his statement without being jailed.

P.S., I don't stand when the anthem is played on television. I do sit quietly.

redwitch 10-17-2016 09:22 AM

Forgot this point. What bothers me far more than CK protesting is seeing the athletes and fans talking and moving around while the anthem is played. This seems to have gotten better in the past few years but still occurs. This, to me, is far more disrespectful.

My sentiments exactly. I have lived near Pittsburgh and near Philadelphia and have never, EVER been a sports fan. People don't understand. But my opinion is that they are a bunch of overpaid, whining babies and will never get a penny from me. I will never understand the adulation, especially from those who will never make in a lifetime what these guys make, and squander, in a year while acting as though they are gods and can do anything they want.

My support goes to the police, military, fire personnel, EMTs, medical personnel and all the people who are out there everyday making a positive difference.
