Default Lying and laying at the Doggie Doo Run Run

One of my pet peeves is the use of lie and lay mainly because so many people use these wrong including me on occasion.

http://www.getitwriteonline.com/archive/051402.htm

These two words lie and lay occur often in the conversations at Doggie Doo Run Run.

Heard someone say his dog is laying on the ground except that from my understanding of the link he can try to do this but he has been fixed. :joke:

Tal,

Man I missed that one. The only thing I really remember in English II was my gorgeous teacher. But why can't I remember what I ate for breakfast this morning?

Thank you Tal

I might even teach that song to my 3rd graders. I use music often to help them remember things even though my voice hurts their ears and they grimace as I sing...poor souls having to put up with my torture... ;D ;D ;D

But then it's funny to overhear them singing songs I've taught them as they are working, walking down the hallway, or playing on the playground.

Tal's song was cute but I've got an easier method, very simply, lie is when you fib and lay is when you ....... oh, oh, you know!!
