Well, I would but I would not know what was going on. I am recording this season though. I had watched some of the first season when it started but then never got back to it.

Recently though, I did something that I rarely do. I bought the first 3 seasons on DVD. I was in Target one night and there they were and I thought, "Oh whattheheck. Just buy them." I have been wanting to catch up with "Mad Men" for a long time. And now I can and then the new season will be waiting on the DVR. -- I hope. Things drop off of there because I never get around to watching them.

What is it K9? Is this the girl or the boy K9?

Where do I find it?

Boomer, you must have posted simultaneously with me. What channel in Cincinnati?

Why am I so uninformed?

This is the girl K9 (uh oh, that sounds like it could be a bad word . . ), anyway, it is a tv series that comes on Sunday nights on AMC channel. It's set in the 60's and it's so fun to see all the clothing and interior decorating. Plus, it's a really good plot -- the main character is a man who started his own advertising firm. He's kind of a jerk, but then you feel sorry for him, too. And, it's interesting to see how women are viewed then in comparison to today's women.

I missed a lot of the first seasons, so I might go out and buy them like Boomer.

Default Mad Men

K9 - I was right there with you watching.
This is a fabulous show.
I was in Advertsing in the 60's and frequently worked with NY Advertising Agencies on ads.
Everything is so authentic - Cast and Wardrobing are amazing, men's attitudes toward women,
affairs, smoking and lots of booze - in fact, most execs had bars in their offices.
This year's first two programs are on Comcast's On Demand.

Default Really liked the first seasons of Mad Men.

The current season seems really slow to me though. Just waiting for something interesting to happen.

Yes, Mad Men has always been criticized as moving at a pace that many today would classify as slow.
Probably why the ratings have dropped off this year. I think they have lost many younger viewers who do not appreciate the nostalgia angle.

I love the show and sometimes I will go back and watch a season again. It's amazing how much I missed the first time around. The details are amazing. You have to pay attention though, what might not seem significant at the time, will develop later on. I love to try to guess the clues to what's coming. Brings back so many memories!

That's great news about the previous seasons being on Comcast's On Demand channel! Had no idea....now I'll have to catch up with those that we've missed. Thanks!

Default Another Mad Men Fan - Question About Peggy

I have watched Mad Men since season 1, and love the show, even though I was a young child during the early 1960's.

Just to show that attitudes towards women in the workforce haven't changed all that much for some people since the 1960's, today a coworker of mine (who is about 12 years older than I am) referred to my company's senior managing accountant as "the girl in accounting." The "girl" is a former IRS auditor and has an MBA and a CPA. So when does one graduate from "girl" to "woman"?

Can't remember from the previous seasons -- who is raising Peggy's baby that she had with Pete -- I think she gave birth to this baby in season 1. For some reason I thought Peggy's sister is raising the baby, but I could be wrong.

You are right........I thought that her sister is the official Mom to her baby. I love this show because I worked right there and it is spot on in the way all were treated. OMG! it was the best of times and the worst of times.....
