Well, I guess we're just kids.....52 and 53. Jane's older and as I remind her she is always gonna be. We've been married 32 years. She says I make her laugh many times a day.

We've found the secret of a happy marriage is this. We go out for dinner twice a week. Romantic, candlelight, dancing, etc.......she goes on Mondays and I go on Thursdays.......:1rotfl:

Seriously, marriage is work at times, that is what makes it valuable...like a thanksgiving dinner is more satisfying then a PBJ....it takes more work.

She married me for my good looks...(now gone), but more importantly she says for my integrity, my faith and values, and my work ethic. We were best friends before we were married and still are.

As a professional firefighter, I know no one is guaranteed tomorrow. I have taught her how to do electrical work, change a flat tire, sweat copper plumbing and fix a roof. She has taught me how to cook and use the dishwasher. I know how to use both dishwashers....the one I married and the one under the counter. The first one was harder to figure out.

Years ago our Pastor asked us to counsel folks in church who were getting married. Teach them the ropes so to speak on communication, expectations, dealing with in-laws, money management, sex, etc, etc. We enjoyed it and years later we see those couples are all still together. Surprising in this day and age.

I delivered our own three boys, thinking any guy could start a job, a real man finishes it. We designed and built our house ourselves together. We are now excited about this next big move in our lives, selling everything in NY and moving down here this year. Currently we are both on cloud nine because we are down here for the next month.

Marriage in The Villages.

My observation that in The Villages there are many kinds of marriages.

There are much married, never married, once married, happily married, unhappily married and living together.

They all seem like pretty nice folks to me.
