Default Military ID Card

A question to my fellow veterans. Where do you go to get a dependent ID card renewed? Is there an online site to make an appointment? Thanks in advance.

I got my VA Medical Card from the VA Clinic next to Mulberry Plaza at the north end of TV. When you enter the front, there are windows to the left where this was done. They took the photo and gave me back a hard plastic ID.

Military & dependents cards are renewed In Orlando, Dependents cards must be renewed every 5 yrs or when the sponsor dies, the date is changed to IDF

Have to get to a DEERS office---VA cards are different

Good info. I had hoped somewhere closer. I'll go to the DEERS site and find out where in Orlando. Thanks.

You are right, however, once the Dependent hits the magic age of " 75 " on renewal the Dependent ID card becomes permanent.

Default McDill AFB is an Option

They make appointments and you can also stop in the Commissary for staples.

Our experience has been that by the time you realize you need to get a new card all of the places that take appointments are already filled up months in advance. The last few times we have gone to the USAR Center, 3701 Corrine Dr, Orlando. They don't take appointments, it's first come first serve, but arriving late mornings we've been the only ones there. In and out easily and quickly. A good alternative if you can't get an appointment on the DEERS site.

Thanks to all of you. Looks like there are 2 or 3 options relatively close by in Orlando or Tampa. BTW McDill has a new program where all the paperwork can be done on line and then you just pick up the card. Too bad it cant be mailed.

Well two things that are needed:

a) The photo on the ID Card

b) You need to sign the Card

So that makes the card being mailed to you impossible.

I usually make the trip to MacDill AFB easy drive, afterward stroll around the Exchange, Lunch at the Dining Hall, Gas up the car before leaving the base.

No not really. They have a system set up where you email the photo and signatures in. Check it out on the McDill Support Services page.

The closest is in north Orlando at Army reserve post. They take walk-in. 3701 Corrine drive, Orlando Florida. I can’t remember the post name? Just put the address in google earth or goggle maps. About 65 miles for way up north in the villages. Once you find the name google it an it will give the business hours .
