That's funny, Hemingway's moon was quite awesome tonight and we're right next door.

Yes, the moon is very beautiful and large, and I noticed it as well. There are high tides somewhere (I sure miss seeing those high and low tides . . . )

Beautiful and clear Full Moon here in Norcal among some scattered clouds at 8:36 local time. Very nice but not unusually large - might appear larger as it first rises due to atmosphere dissipation of light.

Default PTurner you are right

Big Moon....When living in NC, lived close to Mental Hospital, and the place rocked when there was a full moon....Not sure we lived there by accident or by design....Hmmm!

Oh yes, the moon does affect humans as well as the tides. We are comprised of mostly water! For many years, I worked with the general public and you could always tell when there was a full moon!

I've been watching the moon for over 50 years and am still in awe. My wife and I call a very large full moon "Cosmo's Moon" frpon the scene in "Moon Struck".

Wasn't it Alice who was going to get knocked to the moon?

The moon is the same size and does not change (thank God). . . the lower it is to the horizon the larger it appears because you have buildings and trees to reference the size to. The apogee and perigee of the moon's orbit are 50,000 km apart, this is a variation of about 10% around the mean value of it's orbit. So when the moon is closest to the Earth and low in the sky it will appear larger. Now if it was your neighbor giving you the moon, the size may vary!

Default Even at GG's!

On Saturday night, March 19 (tomorrow), the moon will appear at it's largest in almost 20 years-- and even at Gracie's house.

GG, there'll be no denying it this time.

Heard on the news tonight that the moon is the closest to Earth since 1993. There were some other statistics that said it appeared something like 29% brighter and x% bigger. Dancing at the square with this moon in view was memorable.
