Default Motion sickness prevention question

has anybody ever used the writ band that prevents motion sickness by pressure on the wrist?
I think it is called SeaBand.
We are going on a cruise and this time I would like to not take the pills....if avoidable.

Default tried everything

I have tried everything over the years. The very best thing is to take Bomine. It's sold at drug stores. I also take it the two days before the trip because it tends to make you sleepy then you get used to it. After a few days, I only take 1/2 pill and then none, that is if the sea is calm. I have had to take it every day on rougher seas. It works the best of everything. Also, take a thermal glass for coffee and iced tea as the glasses they give you a small. Disposable cameras are great so you can walk the beach and not worry about expensive cameras. We have never had this problem but it felt safe to leave a less expensive camera on the beach. Also, invest in a backpack to take when you leave the ship. Enjoy! I have several other hints if you would like them let me know where you are going and I'll help you out.

I really like the Sea Bands and have used them for years. Most of the meds including the patches make me dizzy. I don't think the Sea Bands deal with intense motion sickness though.

My sister swears by the Sea Bands, but for me....not so much. The scopolamine patch works for me.
As an afterthought, stay away from the ginger remedy. It does nothing for motion sickness and that stuff burns your throat as it comes back up.

We are going on a cruise and as a precaution, I bought Dramamine for motion sickness. While in Target yesterday, I asked the pharmacist there what she thought. She said to try the wrist bands. I bought those too. Will let you know how they work.

Seabands are used by OB patients to calm morning sickness,,,,,Doctors and Hospitals used to give them free to patients .....Thier popularity grew to the point that they are sold over the counter for motion sickness and are very effective ...... If you look the next time your in an airplane at the passengers , about a third of them will be wearing them,,,,,follow the directions on placement carefully and you'll see they do work,,,,,,

Default They work for me...to a point.

I have used Sea Bands for almost 20 years. They allow me to read in a moving vehicle, endure the roughest airplane turbulance, and ride all but the newest and wildest rides at the theme parks.

But four foot seas off the coast of Maine...barely. Six foot seas...wouldn't dare attempt it...I'll stay on shore. The newer and wilder rides at the parks...probably not...although I did survive Mission Space at EPCOT...which I will never get on again BTW.

Make sure you place them correctly: three finger towards your elbow from the base of your wrist with the button between you tendons.

I have worn out two pair already. And make sure you buy Sea Bands brand...less expensive bands don't fit as well and don't last.
