What if they sold a popcorn pass. For $10/month you can get 1 small popcorn a day.

AMC Stubs, similar idea to Movie Pass but just AMC theaters but for all movies, includes a 10% discount on concessions.

If the popcorn pass works like my moviepass I will need to take a picture of me eating popcorn.

Is anyone having trouble with moviepass in The Villages? I'm reading some bad predictions. I don't want to drive to the Realto only to find out moviepass is not working at this time. I have seen everything in Brownwood I want to see.

There was a lady trying to buy a ticket in the other line at the Rialto for Mamma Mia 2. The ticket taker was trying to instruct her on what to do. Not sure if she got it via MoviePass. A few times I have seen users of this just give up and pay with cash, instead.

I think that happens a lot. Especially if you are there with a group. I found a couple more movies at Brownwood that look good so I'll try later and see what happens. I've seen more big screen movies in the last 6 months then I have for the previous 30 years. I don't think there is an alternative plan that works in the villages.

I watch an awful lot of movies but I am checking for something in them much of the time and taking notes.

Usually these are Blu-Rays I buy so I can go back later on and verify.

Most of these I had seen on the big screen but I usually only go to one or two movies a week. Saw Damsel and The Equalizer 2 this week on big screens even if the screen in Auditorium 8 at the Rialto is rather small.

There were some problems with Movie Pass last week because their servers were down for a couple of days. they were behind on payments to some vendors and had to quickly borrow $5M to pay some bills before they could get back on line...

For my one or two movies per week, it does not seem like MoviePass would be worth the potential stress.

I also get Villages' movie passes on occasion for donating blood and even sometimes for giving platelets. Check out the One Blood mobiles. They often give out movie passes. Only good at the Villages' theaters, however.

I do not know what the Life South buses give out to donors as I have not donated to these in years.

I loved the Incredibles and am really looking forward to the 2nd one. Damsel would not be to many people's tastes as it is quite strange. I found it enjoyable in how different it was from the average Western.

Moviepass may pass away. I went to the closest theater and moviepss said I saw all the movies they have and the new ones were blocked--mission impossible. The next movie I could see was in an hour and a half at the Realto. So I practiced at Sarasota and tried to see that one. That didn't work either and the ticket person said moviepass stopped working about an hour earlier.

Anybody have any other information? I don't know how they could sustain the concept.

We tried to us on 7/29 for a 5pm movie. It was not listed as an option. As I looked on the app it gave the following explanation;
7/29 - Outage

Sunday, July 29th.

We are aware and working on a fix to a technical issue that is affecting our card-based check-ins.

E-ticketing remains fully functional today. We advise our users who would like to visit non-eticketing theaters to wait to head to the theater until we have a full resolution.

Thank you for you patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

My guess it is dieing a slow death.

The article linked above sounds like they are struggling to stay alive. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
