Default My Commodore 64 is running slow! Need help!

Lately whenever I play Duck Hunt the birds are flying way too slow and appear to be winded. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you burning wood or coal for the boiler?

If you can get the hamster on the wheel to run faster, you'll generate more electricity and your commodore should run faster!

I think the problem is low memory. Your 16k may need to be boosted to 48k, like an Apple II.

Maybe log on to your AOL dial up account and see if you can find some technical help.

Does anybody have any healthier ducks they're not using? The computer runs fine. Mario is running as fast as always.

OMG I did not think there were any of those still running. Seriously, you may have a collectable on your hands. I would try to sell this to a collector and buy a new laptop or tablet, and one of the Coleco/Nintendo, etc game collections and play your heart out.

In a previous life I built my first 2 computers by hand, built the expansion interface for my TRS80, and did custom hardware and software design for a while. I do not have any idea where you would go for help with your problem. You could try a google search for "commodore repair" and see what you get.
Good luck, just my thoughts.

Try Google for the answer to your question? It is an amazing source of info to technical problems.

A second solution is to seriously upgrade your computer.

Be careful which computer tech you use. Some of them are quacks.

I just remembered. Whenever my grandfathers tv was on the fritz he would whack it on the side. I'm going to try this and hope it doesn't upset the ducks too much.

You've neglected to use the voice interface. Try yelling "faster" at it a few times.
