30 min wait in a public lubrary in North Atlanta
Not bad at all.

Early voted last week and waited 45 minutes at the library on 466a. I wonder when the day will come that I will be able to sit down at my computer and vote immediately?

All States should be like Oregon...........they vote exclusively by mail in/absentee ballot. You get your ballot and a postage paid envelope for return. Saves money in long run for State.

All States that I know of have mail-in ballots, so if you choose to stand in line.......that's your choice, but don't complain about the lines. You have various options.

I thought that they were still counting the absentee ballots? Maybe, they finished with all the votes for Sumter County???

You do realize we have many more people today.(Population growth) And as I learned in college level political science we use to have about 10% to 15% of eligible voters vote.
Last time I checked we had about 50% -60% of eligible voters voting and I know this election is getting a heavy turn out.

For myself I have no complaints as I hand delivered an absentee ballot. However, my mom fought tooth and nail to get the right for women to vote. Long lines are not good and most states have enough poling places and machines to avoid these lines.

Lowest turnout ever for presidential election was 48.9%. You weren't listening in poly sci class. Voter Turnout in Presidential Elections

Our personal situation is a little odd. We have our house in Florida that will not be our permanent residence until January. We essentially live in the Baltimore area because this is where my wife works. However until January our "official-legal" residence is in northeastern PA. So yesterday we took the 6-hour round trip drive to vote.

LOL Well I got an A!! 10-15 %% was when Aaron Burr was elected VP. Upstate NY was the West and oxen were a necessity. Unless Professor Hurtline was a liar, he said it. Are you a Pol. Science major or a google man? Don't think Google covers the election of Burr. However, I should Google as memory isn't as good as it use to be...
But you are right, I did like to party in college and still do! Had some fun in that class. Found my future wife, more important than any election statistic!

The number of voters is still much larger today and I'll go with pop. growth. Plus women and blacks can vote now. Guess numbers of voters means more than % of voters.

Very interesting that at the time of Lincoln, the percentage was very high.

Thanks for posting.

Picky Picky. Read my whole response to this. Don't take one statement out and miss the whole point.

I all ready said number of voters is much more important and I KNOW there are many MORE voters.

Look at the length of lines. That says it all. Going but I'll check in tonight. Life is too short for this pickiness...

Always have a good turn out when this country has problems and Lincoln really had to deal with big problems.

"CLEVELAND – The FOX 8 I-Team has learned that Cuyahoga County recently sold thousands of its touch-screen voting machines for less than a penny on the dollar.

And, believe it or not, that’s the good news: thousands of other machines had their parts recycled or scrapped.

The county paid a company nearly $6,000 just to dispose of those machines.

"..At polling stations, teams working on the study were able to pick locks to access memory cards and use hand-held devices to plug false vote counts into machines. At boards of election, they were able to introduce malignant software into servers.

Ms. Brunner proposed replacing all of the state’s voting machines, including the touch-screen ones used in more than 50 of Ohio’s 88 counties..."

BTW - I wasn't referring to your post so don't take it personal.

I didn't miss your point but just found it interesting when examing the chart the percentages around Lincoln's time was much higher. No comment on why people don't vote as I can't get political.

I love sports too.
