Default Oh NO!!!

Beware Villagers!

In the News today>

Nearby galaxy is hurtling towards Milky Way on collision course which could wipe out life on Earth. A neighboring galaxy is hurtling towards the Milky Way on a collision course which could shift Earth outside the Goldilocks zone, making it too hot or too cold for life, scientists have warned.

New research led by astrophysicists at Durham University, predicts that the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) could hit the Milky Way in two billion years’ time.

Never mind. Didn't read that last part closely.

This reminds me of George Carlin's Hippy Dippy weatherman skit from the 60's.

I have always been skeptical about the people who worry about the human race's impact on global warming. I think the earth is about 5 billion years old, and humans have only been around for about 150K years. I believe that the human race will become extinct long before we have an opportunity to destroy the planet.
