What we need is leadership.

It can best come from someone with either a military or large corporate background where leadership skills are proven. They know what it takes to bring people together towards a common goal. "Deal-making" Businessmen and Politicians do not represent a good pool to chose from. Divided we fall, which is what we are seeing now.

People will come together behind a good leader. Where are they and why aren't they stepping forward?

I agree...we need a leader with a vision that will foster consensus and follow-ship

Then I think to myself....who in their right mind that is truly qualified would ever aspire to take on the mess that whoever sits in the Oval Office will face and put themselves and their family through the gauntlet to run for that office?

It's a shame how our leaders are treated...

I only served one term on an HOA board...I didn't need that BS....I had to deal with that stuff when I was in Corporate America, but I was compensated very well for it

This has me questioning whether or not we are really all that divided.

While certainly there are strong opinions about everything on both sides of every issue. Most people accept that people can have opinions that differ from theirs.

Certainly there are many that strongly support or oppose both presidential candidates, but isn't really a very small and very vocal minority that is causing trouble?

I know that there are protests and riots going on in many major cities but many of our 330,000,000 citizens are actually involved in them. Even if it's a few million, which I seriously doubt, that doesn't mean that the vast, vast majority of us are all that divided.

I have friends that I agree with politically and friends that I disagree with politically. Somehow we still all manage to remain friends. We find that we have a lot that we agree on.

Almost every presidential election is won by less than ten percentage points. How are we any more divided now than during all those other elections?

It's the media and politicians that are telling us that we are divided when the truth is there are very few people involved in the divisiveness that we see in the media every day.

I agree the media has an agenda and pushes it every chance it gets. Sad that they have so much power.

Our representatives do not remember who they work for. Term limits or sending home say 300 congressman this November might remind them
