A lot of times over the last 50 years, I needed protection from myself.

Something happens...we only learn a few facts....but humans are good story tellers...we fill in the blanks ...

He must have been a sharpshooter to hit something so small.

Everyone knows that most gun nuts are just.....compensating.

Wasn't surprised to hear the Pastor was packing when I
heard it was in Poinciana.

So with the schools that are starting to let Teachers & Principals carry you wouldn't want your kids going there? How many students could be hurt by a crazed nut job before 911 was called and arrived ? Someone pulls a gun on you bang your dead. Besides I really don't blame the Pastor for carrying there's money to be had in churches and who would expect him to be carrying. JMO

If teachers are allowed to carry pistols, just how soon would it be that a student gets the teacher's gun and kills a teacher or a student? Or that a teacher has a really bad day and starts shooting students?

By the way, look up "principle" vs. "principal".

So I spelled it wrong! Actually spell check corrected it! I didn't say I agreed with it just that it's starting to happen and IF your school does it you can't stop sending your child there. You have no idea how many people are packing a piece and where they might be including church. That's what I'm saying.

Sandtrap you won't change anyone's mind who feels the need to own and carry a gun.

I am 75 years old and none of my teachers, nor any of my pastors or sunday school teachers felt the need to carry a gun. Glad I got here when I did, and seem to be scheduled to leave at the right time too.

I don't have one, but I may see the need to change my mind.

No use arguing....Take it on a case to case basis.

We are very safe here, but when we had all those break in's I had to think that those young punks were foolin' with the wrong group.

You're correct, this is "one of those topics" where it is difficult to change minds. I don't know if my pastors or teachers carried, I think I might be surprised. I'm glad my sixth grade teacher didn't carry, I KNOW she would have shot me..........spanking was not enough. :a040::a040:

Glad in this situation, it worked out.

It seems that the 29 year old mom had a loaded pistol in her purse. The child was sitting in the shopping cart, rummaged through mom's purse, found the pistol, and shot mom - killing her. This took place in a Walmart in Idaho.

Yep, the mom had a concealed carry permit.

Yep, those pistols really save lives, don't they?

The isolated incident is so noted!

How about wondering how a two year old knew how to hold, aim and shoot.
I suspect like too many modern families there is very little control over what kids watch or hear any more. And of course the worst crime of all using the television as a baby sitter.

Acknowledge the isolated incident and let's do something about the real problem of how our permissive society, do not deny anybody anything don't upset anybody and above all there shall be little or no enforcement.

Yes, I would like to know how a two year old knows what to do with a gun!!!

And yes a packing pastor demonstrates the wisdom of his decision. As well as being ready to protect his flock as and if ever needed.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say the pastor of a central Florida church shot and wounded an employee during a gunfight after the employee learned he was being fired.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Living Water Fellowship Church Pastor Terry Howell had been meeting with maintenance worker Benjamin Parangan Tuesday to terminate Parangan's employment with the Kissimmee church.

Witnesses say Parangan pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Howell. He wasn't hurt but returned fire with his own weapon and hit Parangan.

And they don't reserve seats in his church either.

This time a good guy had a weapon too. All too often it's only the bad guys.

Officials say Parangan was listed in stable condition at a hospital.

Deputies are investigating the shooting as a case of self-defense. Authorities say charges are pending against Parangan.

Earlier this month, Pastor James "Tripp" Battle was fatally shot at his Bradenton church.

And they don't reserve seats in his church either.

I love a story with a happy ending.

Not as quick or as often as a nut bag will assault a school where no one can defend the children.

Did the pastor save his own life by shooting the guy who tried to kill him? This is a yes or no question.
